    experienced carb-cyclers needed

I have a question for those that have experience doing Twin Peaks carb cycling diet from avant labs.

I have already started the diet but want to get some more feedback from others who have used it.

basically, was it successful? and what tweaks did you have to make as time went on, and should i expect to lose muscle and strength, or were you guys able to maintain yours?

    (BTW i am 21 years old, 195lbs @ ~20% BF)

I used it for competition last year and I'm using is to prep for another competition right now. Yes, it was successful. I didn't make any tweaks and I gained a bit of muscle while using it. Then again I was previously on a low carb diet so anyone is bound to gain muscle when they come off of low carb diets.

It's successful...if you alter it to suit your needs. I didn't succeed on the basic plan and am on a more aggressive, tweaked plan right now. This is from my own personal experience, of course.

    Peace.

WHEN I was doing low carb - its was low. Less than 50G a day, however I never tested for ketosis.

TP's carb cycling plan is NOT a ketosis diet.

i know its not a ketosis diet. the reason i was asking was because i wanted to know if the reason you were losing muscle on your low carb diet was because your body was just oxidizing protein (and muscle) in order to meet its calorie demands because you had not entered ketosis, at which point fat would be the primary fuel source. (anyway, thats a whole other discussion)

    anyway, my pressing questions are:

whats the best way to set up a carb cycling diet around a lifting schedule like this? (my thoughts are listed)

    m-back (high)
    t-off (no)
    w-legs/arms (high)
    th-off (low)
    f-chest/shoulders/traps (low)
    sat - off (no)
    sun - off (low)

I know TP advocates balanced cycling (i.e. high, low,no, repeat) but i really don't want to train anymore than 3x per week, and have any back-to-back days. (I know I'm so anal)

Also, what is the best type of cardio on this diet (i know everyone is different), but what is your opinion and whats the rationale behind it?

finally, out of left field, what do you guys think about lyle mcdonalds writing, Ultimate Diet 2.0 seems really interesting, worth getting or not, maybe for when i reach 10-12% BF range?

finally, i just want to thank you guys for any replies ahead of time, esp jodi, for her patience and for answering the same n00b carb cycling questions over and over, you really do make these boards a great place to come for info.
