That is not anywhere near enough calories no matter how much you weigh. Read the stickies as Jodi said. You have a lot of learning to do.

Your diet lacks solid food, veggies, and EFA's. Solid foods speeds up your metabolism, shakes are a supplement and not to always take place of real food.Originally Posted by thomascalandrin

the muffin is just oat bran. nothing else in it. The pasta is just regular pasta do you suggest that i only eat the whole wheat kind? So should i leave the fruit out or just have less? I am trying to maintan my body weight in protein. when would be the proper time to have protein shakes? and how many grams? great response very helpful.
Do you make the muffins yoursef?
ONLY whole wheat pasta. Never eat white pasta
2 Protein shakes per day. PWO shake and either at bed in place of cottage cheese or another convenient time. 40G Protein for your shake is good. You only need very small amounts of fruit. Fruit only refills liver glycogen not muscle glycogen. You need complex carbs to fill muscle glycogen like brown rice, oats, sweet potatoes, whole wheat pasta, whole grains.

LOL no i dont make the muffins myself so i guess that i wont eat them anymore. what does EFA stand for?
breakfast 3 egg whites on whole wheat bread with turkey and tomatoes. does that sound right?
for lunch grilled chicken lettuce and tomatoes on a whole wheat wrap with veggies. does that sound better.
i usually get hungry mid morning and mid afternoon what would you reccoment that i snack on to keep me from eating fruit?
ok i looked up EFA's now what food would i find them in? also i think you might be misunderstanding the way i formated my original post listing my diet when i say (oranges, apples, grapes) i would just eat one orange or one apple or maybe some grapes im not eating an apple an orrange and having grapes in one sitting. just wanted to make sure we were on the same page

Get yourself some fish oil
I understand and you don't need more than 1 piece of fruit per day. 2 at the max.

You're eating mid-morning and mid-afternoon. You shouldn't be hungry if you're eating every 2.5 to 3 hours. If you are, look at your meals at those times (shakes? That could be it, my friend...) If you eat real-food protein instead, maybe add in a serving of veggies (fibrous) that will probably help. As well, for the morning meal at least, you could also include a serving of complex carbs (brown rice, sweet potato, other whole grains).Originally Posted by thomascalandrin
If you must have a shake for reasons of convenience, try blending some fibre into it; I like flax fibre myself, others prefer psyllium. I'd still munch some veggies if I were you, some celery or radishes or carrot sticks perhaps. (Yeah, I know. "Sugar in carrots". But y'know, for thirty calories per medium carrot and all of those most excellent phytochemicals and vitaminal goodness, I don't get too concerned myself about a few natural sugars. Matter of perspective I suppose.)
well mid morning and mid afternoon i wasnt really eating just having an apple or orange with a shake i was doing this because i would get a little hungry between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner. i blend fiber into my protein shakes i use a supplement called myofiber http://www.muscleology.com/products_supplements.html so your saying that i should drop the shakes and have some veggies or celery sticks for mid morning and mid afternoon?
I'm saying that if you keep the shakes, you might want to add some veggies. Do not, however, omit to have some sort of protein component in your mid-morning and mid-afternoon meals, whether that be shake, egg, dead beast or whatever.
ok thanks for your advice everyone has been veryhelpful and informative

Why are you having two meals at once at 5P?

What are those EFA's and how much are you getting?
Get rid of the apple in meal 6. Why are you not eating every 3 hours? I noticed your 2nd meal was only 1.5 hours apart from meal 1

lol @ p Funk i had private messaged jodi earlier and she asked me to post it then i spoke with you so RELAX and watch your mouth when you speak to me "DUDE".
Sorry man, I just get really pissed off when people send me pm's or bother me on IM for hours asking me to set up training programs or diets for them and then I help them out and then they want to ask everyone if what they are doing is okay. It pisses me off when someone asks my opinion and then wants to argue with me about it.....it's like...why ask.Originally Posted by thomascalandrin

That's why I tell everyone that PM's me to post it. I don't help people with diets through PM's anymore for the same reason Funky.
There are a just few that I've known here for a long time that I will help privately.
