    Am I doing ok?

I just started a cutting cycle about 2 weeks ago. I am 5'6'', 145 lbs. I went from eating 2500 callories a day in a 40/35/25 protein/carb/fat split to eating 1600-1800 calories a day in a 50/30/20 split. I still eat at around 200 grams of protein a day. I simply cut out some of the carbs and fat from my diet.

I lift 4-5 times a week. In addition, I now do cardio every workout- 5 mins of jogging before lifting to warm up, a HIIT program 3x a week, and 10-15 min of jogging on off-HIIT days. Am I doing ok or should I cut my calories further?

Too much cardio. 2 HIIT, 1 Traditional per week is all you need.

What do your meals look like? Female/Male?

    MALE, 22 YEARS OLD.

    my diet is usually:

breakfast: metrex meal replacment bar, cheerios with milk, or oatmeal

lunch: 4 oz broiled ground beef, 4 oz grilled chicken, or 4 oz boars head turkey breast on 2 slices whole wheat; raw vegtable (carrots, string beans, etc.); ultra gold multi-vitamins

    workout

post workout protein shake (40 grams protein)

dinner: 4 oz beef, chicken, salmon, or turkey; vegtable; 2 slices whole wheat bread

night time snack: 4 oz beef, turkey or chicken

I also do abs with every workout: crunches, reverse crunches, leg raises, etc.

Am I really doing too much cardio? I know its probably me, but when I look in the mirror I actually think my stomach is getting flabbier. My measurments are 38 chest, 31 navel, 32 waist-line. This a big improvment over the 36 waist I was 2 years ago, but I am working really hard to get six pack abs.

How bout you ditch the cheerios and milk and stick with oats. No cheerios on a cut

lunch: 4 oz broiled ground beef, 4 oz grilled chicken, or 4 oz boars head turkey breast on 2 slices whole wheat; raw vegtable (carrots, string beans, etc.); ultra gold multi-vitamins

This is fine but how bout some EFA's?

    workout

post workout protein shake (40 grams protein)

Here is where you should have the carbs.

dinner: 4 oz beef, chicken, salmon, or turkey; vegtable; 2 slices whole wheat bread

No more bread. Have sweet potato or brown rice instead and again EFA's?

night time snack: 4 oz beef, turkey or chicken

You need fat here. Better yet, you need casein protein like cottage cheese and natty pb.

I also do abs with every workout: crunches, reverse crunches, leg raises, etc.

See my above comments in bold but I thought you said this was a 50/30/20? What are you macros? Add another veggie somewhere and you MUST add some EFA's.

I'm going to go get the EFA supplements. I had honestly never heard about them. I love peanut butter. I read somewhere about something called Peanut Power Butter. It is supposed to be peanut butter with higher protein lower fat and flaxseed oil (EFA). have you ever heard of this stuff or should I just look for organic peanut butter?

Thanks for all your help. I appreciate you taking the time to help me.
