    SmartOnes

What would you tell someone if they thought the following:

-To lose weight they only have to eat frozen dinners such as SmartOnes because they are low in calories
-They can eat whatever is made by SmartOnes in whatever quantity because it is low in calories... including ice cream, snacks, etc.

My mom thinks these things, and I tell her that first off, she's not eating enough, and should eat around 2,000 calories, and that all the sugar and stuff in the snacks are bad and it doesn't matter if they are low in calories or not.

What would you tell such a person to try to convince them to change their diet?

Make her food. The proof's in the pudding -- well, not specifically. Make her a bet, if she's that kind of mom, that you can do a better job than Smart Ones, and put her together a plan. Many, if not most, people don't feel they know "enough" to do it themselves, and there's so much conflicting information out there, that they can't be sure they're getting it "right". (I'm sure she's read in more than one place -- I've seen such plans myself -- that she can lose weight and eat healthily, without effort, on the "Pre-made Food Plan".)

It's only with results that some people will be motivated to try for more, better results.

You live with her? Your diet working? Any way you can proportionately scale it down for her and share? Don't forget the exercise.

My mom's the same exact way!! She'll eat healthy choice, lean cuisines and smart one's because she thinks that's the way to loose weight. I even actually printed off the whole thread about Jodi's guide to cutting. Sometimes she looses, sometimes she doesn't. She's also one of those who think you have to practically starve yourself to see results.

    Good Luck!!
Only time will tell if it was time well spent!
