    Vacation Diet Question

I'm heading up to CT for a week July 1-7.

I'm not going to have my bike or weights to keep up with my current schedule. Basically all I'll be able to do is run, if I have time.

Should I consider going no/very low-carb for the week (still clean foods), throw the body in (or close to) ketosis for the week and then get a refeed in when I come back and resume?

    What do you guys suggest?

I'm doing carb cycling with P/RR/S at present ...

what is ur diet looking like right now??cutting or maintaining i assume from ur post..
EDIT:didn't see that carb cycling comment on the bottom,,,so ur bulking then?if u won't be at the gym u should obviously ease up on the carbs and lower ur overall caloric intake..i wouldn't worry about it too much though

I agree....I'd say don't worry about it and enjoy.

You don't have to stuff yourself to the point of feeling sick everyday or anything - but I'd ease up and eat. Then when you return home you'll have even more drive to keep going and reach your goals.

Well, I'm only about 3.5 weeks into my cut ... I'm using the carb cycling to cut fat ... while using the protein in the diet to sneak some muscle I've lost back on. Gonna meet somewhere in the middle.

My concern is that I'm so early into my diet that a week away, off the strict schedule, I could easily bloat back the 10 lbs I've taken off ...

I'm calling it a vacation, but I'll be with family, so I can manage any diet. I'm thinking in terms of the no exercise ... what's best ... I'll probably have a cheat or two up there ...

I know the feeling. The one time you want to be strict with your diet and something gets in the way.

Personally id just shoot for maintenance cals (adjusted for the lack of exercise) for the week. Keep protein high, carbs/fat relatively low. Almost like a week of just low carb days. A cheat here and there can be your "high carb" day.

    Thats what id do, anyway.

That's a good idea, I'll probably aim for that and try to make sure if I get to run, it preceeds a cheat ...

Personally I try to relax, not worry about training but I still try to get my 5-7 meals a day. I'm not as into it when I'm away unless I have access to a gym.

I was in Toronto in the middle of June for 10 days & I was able to train, so I had to make sure I had enough food to eat. But if I can't train I tend not to worry about it as much.

If I just eat when I'm hungry & keep it at that.
