    What do I EAT???

Hi all! I'm new to this forum and need some help! I just kick started a new fitness program and know that what you eat is as important as how you work out. I see all kinds of posts about eating eggs and carbing out etc, but don't know what any of this means. If it helps, I am 5'5 and and trying to lose 15lbs to no avail. My new fitness program is as follows:

Monday: Upper body weights and 30 min cardio
Tues: Lower body weights and 1 hour spin class
Weds: One hour cardio and wakeboarding
Thurs: Lower body weights and 1 hour spin class
Friday: Upper body weights and 30 min cardio

I welcome all comments about my workout as well as suggestions on what to eat. Thanks!

what you it is more important than how you workout.

A good place to start is the stickies at the to pof the forum as they contain lots of great info to get you started on healthy eating. Also, read some of the juornals and see what people diets look like.

Post your own diet and let people help you out in refining it as well.

    Welcome to IM.

looks like your doing too much, which would lead to overtraining, especially the spin class and lifting lower body on the same day, your legs especially need sometime to rest because they are a major bodypart and it doesn't look like your giving them any rest, especially if you go straight to the spin class from lifting

Why a class? I dont really see the reason behind a class for cycling. Does it just push you harder or what?

Yes it does push people harder. Riding a stationary bike to your own pace is not the same as someone telling you to pedal faster or increase resistance makes for a much better cardio workout. Plus the loud music is a boost. I use to take the spin classes.

Spin classes are actually pretty tough. They aren't just the easy peddal through the woods you might think them to be.
