drinking carb countdown milk as a protein source

Is there any reason not to endulge in a large glass of c.c. milk?(even on cut?)

Seems like it serves as great slow release protein.

BTW I cant find it in skim, do they make it?

milk is low GI but high on the insulin index. I would drink it sparingly...

I would think the best policy is to try it out for a while and if you don't like what you're seeing in the mirror, then ditch it. It looks graet to me, though, I'd do it.

    Peace.

well "ideally" you'd want your main source of protein to be from a "complete & lean" kind, most of the time.

If you're already having whey with your oats for breakfast, and post workout...then adding this stuff to another meal, I would think you're shortchanging yourself on the thermic effects of protein. That's half your day's meals in which your main source of protein isn't solid.

I would think for the best results possible, you'd like your protein to be from a solid food source most of the time. You'll still get results regardless, people get results with 2mrp's plus their post workout shake a day. But I doubt they're getting the best results possible.

That's just a theory based on what I know, though

good point about the thermogenic effects...and you are definitly right about the solid meals.

at least I'm getting 2X BW in protein, so there is plenty of thermo. occuring from gluconeogenesis.

LAM, I've always wopndered about the insulin scale and have heard about that with milk...can you send me a link or briefly explain how it is diff. from the GI? Also, how would it raise that much insulin in that there are only 3 carbs? Sure protein raises insulin as well, but that much?

Dude it's 3g of carbs, that's hardly enough to create any kind of negative insulin-related result...it's like eating two bites of a Twizzler

    Peace.

yeah I know, but there is something (not the carbs) that raises insulin.
I read an article about it.

Well everything you ingest raises insulin (other than water). It's too much insulin that we're worried about.

    Peace.
