Anyone not follow the 6 meal plan?

Does anyone not follow the 6 meal a day plan and still see significant gains in their lifts and the way their body is being sculpted? I remember in highschool not following a diet plan and still making significant gains? Anyone?

your hormones are raging in high school. I ate candy and smoked pot daily and put on 35 lbs of muscle the first 2 years...

I wish i could put on 35 pounds muscle in a year eating candy. Dude of course people still make gains...most people have no clue about nutrition. Most of the people you see at the gym dont know anything, but they still have some muscles.

Ok, but the reason we eat 6 times a day is to keep the metabolism going and to promote muscle gain, correct? So, if you dont follow the 6 meals a day and still lift, you will still see significant gains. Im just wondering what the differences would be if you didnt follow the 6 meal a day and just ate 3 times? I wonder if any studies or "experiments have been done on this? Would a person eating 6 times a day, (getting all the protein and carbs and fat you need) make the same gains as a person who just ate 3 times or less a day?

I read in my girlfriends endrocrinology book that pot will kill your testosterone levels. I smoke pot occasionally now and it doesn't seem to bother me. If you don't mind me asking what is your age and do you make good gains??

Sometimes I can't. It just depends on what I have to do. Lately, it has been hard for me to squeeze in two meals properly spaced out while I am training at my new job. I end up waiting 4-5 hours before my next meal sometimes. Occasionally, if I have to alter my schedule, I only end up eating 4-5 meals.

When I first started lifting I made a lot of gains, but I didn't pay attention to diet at all. At a certain point in your training age, I feel it is a must. Plus, your gains aren't going to be optimal even if they are noticeable.

My biggest gains (first 3 of 8 years) have been with 3 full meals, and 3 whey shakes in between. Does that count?

Also, I got most cut on 8 eatings (not really meals) per day.

Very nicely put. I smoke EVERY day before I work out. I have no problems.

    (3) NEW STUDY FINDS POT DOESN'T LOWER TESTOSTERONE

A new study by Dr. Robert Block at the University of
Iowa disputes the commonly held notion that marijuana alters
the level of testosterone and other sex hormones.
The study contradicted a widely publicized 1974 study
by Dr. R.C. Kolodony, which reported decreased testosterone
levels in men who smoked marijuana chronically.
The U. of Iowa study found that chronic marijuana use
had no effect on testosterone, luteinizing hormone, follicle
stimulating hormone, prolactin and cortisol in men or women.
Noting that six other studies had failed to show
lowered testosterone levels in men, Dr. Block concluded: "It
appears that marijuana, even heavy use of the kind that's
typical in the United States, doesn't alter testosterone levels."
However, he cautioned that heavy use might have other
adverse effects, including "possible effects on reproductive
function and mild, selective cognitive impairments associated
    with heavy, chronic use."
Block's study is published in Drug and Alcohol
    Dependence, Vol. 28: 121-8 (1991).

It kind of shocks me that so many of you smoke weed. Kind of surprising all things considered.

yeah im kind of shocked that so many people smoke marijuana also. Not to criticize anyone but its funny that people will avoid food thats bad for them yet smoke marijuana which harms lung function and destroys antioxidants that protect cells against heart disease and cancer. Ah well

that is quite true, but if your in LA, your only choice is to breathe the smog. Or i guess you could leave the city. Just seems odd to me though. As i said though, im not criticizing anyone. Occasionally i probably have a few more beers than i should. We cant all be perfect.

Well, Im in high school and I ate right and I put on 35 pounds of Muslce in a year's time and BF of 13 % which is alittle high but you need to keep it in that range to gain more muscle... I eat about 5 to 6 times but always get my 1 gram per body weight of protein thats the must important in building muslce.
