    TOO much protein in diet??

I recently figured out that i've been consuming just over my bodyweight in grams of protein. in other words, i weight 220-225, and i eat 230gr of ON whey everyday. i figure its a good way to make sure im getting my minimum daily requirement of protein. is that too much powder though?

my daily diet is as follows:

7am: 4 large egg whites, 2 slices wheat toast, 76gr protein shake

10am: Dunkin Donuts egg and cheese on salsa bagel, 46gr protein shake, banana

    12pm: roast beef/turkey/tuna sand w/mayo on 2 slices wheat bread w/cheese, 1 cup cottage cheese w/pineapple

    2pm: 3 cups cottage cheese w/pineapple, trailmix

    7:30pm: 76gr pwo shake w/cran

8:30: tonite had shitload of fish (shitload means platefull), but may be hamburg, chicken, steak etc., big bowl of captain crunch.

10pm: 46gr shake, some little snack

that is my daily diet. with the exception of the meat i eat for dinner at 8pm, plus there's usually a veggie and some carbs (pasta, rice etc.), that is what i eat everyday.
    what u guys think?

you go 5 and half hours with NO food? and then so much food crammed in during the evening an hour or so apart. .... respace them better.

    dunkin donuts? captin crunch?

the only healthy fats I see is in the trail mix....

and to answer your question, IMO yes TOO much protein!!!

well, its more like 5 hrs w/o food. i hate feeling even the slightest bit bloated/full when i w.o., therefore i like to feel nice and empty and dont eat for a while beforehand.
what u recommend for a light snack pre-w.o.? (and i stress Light haha)

jen, you gotta realize, i dont have the greatest selection of food.therefore, i gotta eat whatever i can to make sure i'm getting enough cals. i stay lean enough as it is, so i dont have to worry about eating very clean.

I always get bad gas if I go over 1gram per lbs of body weight.

I think you take too much whey. It isn't the best protein to have at all times of the day. You need more protein that circulates through your system for a longer period of time. This is especially true before bed. You should eat cottage cheese or some other form of longer lasting protein so you are catabolic for less time.

1 gram per pound of bodyweight is bare minimum if you are trying to bulk. Add more carbs and go for 1.5 grams of protein per lbs. You must eat more calories than you use if you want the protein you eat to become muscle. Otherwise, your body will burn some of the protein you eat for energy. Your energy should be provided by lots of carbs, and some healthy fats. Then the protein can be used to build muscle. EAT MORE CALORIES! EAT EVERY THREE HOURS MINIMUM!

ok how about removing one of the protein shakes at your meals(since you have far too much of it) and having that along with a peice of fruit or something light an hour before you train? you really should have something.
