    Off Week Nutrition: Transition From Cut To Bulk

    So I'm about to put an end to my carb cycling cut, take a week to recharge my nervous system and let little injuries heal up, and go into a balanced diet bulk. Anyone have suggestions on how I should eat during my off week? Maintenance calories? Also, I have no idea how I'm supposed to be adding calories for my bulk programme, considering I've been on carb cycling for so long and I haven't counted calories in a while.

    I'm thinking maybe I should go 50/20/30, maintenance calories, on the off-week. Does anybody think a 50/30/20 would be better?

    first thing I would do is to maintain your current bodyweight for at least several weeks. then slowly increase cals by 10% each week until weight gain occurs. changing your macros has less of implact as changing the caloric intake so don't sweat that...I would also recommend getting some r-ALA to use once you start upping the carbs...

    I wouldnt go as low as 20% carbs though. Your moving into a bulking stage, you need those carbs.

    I agree, but I'm basically going to be resting and not engaging in anything physical this entire week, so I'm a bit paranoid.

    LAM, I think my body has become accustomed to huge amounts of carbs thanks to carb cycling....I will invest in R-ALA though, largely because I have seen success with it

    I'm actually a bit unsure as to how to configure my maintenance plan because I'm coming off carb cycling and moving into a more balanced plan that incorporates carbs every day. I figure that since I'm not cutting anymore the prospect of no carb days make me feel a little queasy. I hate them. I guess I'll just use my maintenance levels from previous experience or something, which is 14-16 times my bw.

    you can go isocaloric for several weeks at 33/33/33

    Never done that before. A good idea in your opinion? I'm actually more concerned with what I should be doing during the off week. I plan to be lounging around, working on school, catching up with reading that I've neglected and putting in extra work at the magazine I write for, nothing strenuous whatsoever.

    I've always been a big fan of the isocaloric diet, especially when activity level is low...

    Yeah, activity level is gonna be VERY VERY low....the most strenuous activity I will engage in will probably be going to a rap show and nodding my head. I think I might give the isocaloric diet a whirl. Any other opinions?
