What do you replace chips with?

So far, for me, the hardest thing to give up is chips. But there has got to be something out there that can effectivly replace them in a healthy diet. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really could use some help with this, this more than candy, soda, chocolate, cake, or anything else is my personal diet demon.

You don't replace them, you eliminate them.

There are always ways to find replacements for foods we love. Dieting doesn't have to mean torture.

It might not be the same as chips but they are great for dipping in salsa.

No, just realistic and understand that we still have to live life and shouldn't always feel like we are being left out. Just because we choose to eat healthier doesn't have to mean we can't enjoy life and lets face it, eating yummy foods is part of enjoying life.

almonds are kinda crunchy. But wouldn't suggest dipping them in salsa.

It seems like people go through stages... there's the "i can diet without being a health nazi like those freaks!" Then there's the "god, that guy is eating whole wheat bread!! what a PIG!" stage, also known as "now im the health nazi" stage. Finally there's the "happy medium" stage, where you go back to realizing that a nice body doesnt mean shit if you arent happy with your lifestyle.

Unfortunately i think ive been stuck in stage 2 for a while (all my friends and family always jokingly ask me what im having for dinner... since all i ever eat is brown rice and chicken (thanks, TP, you asshole)). I'm hoping that one of these days ill become a little less obsessive compulsive.

I understand what you are saying, but chances are that most of us have been eating junk all our lives, 15-20 years, (the ice cream, the chips). For most BB is a very short lived sport (lifestyle). I agree if all one is interested in is eating more healthy, you don't have to suffer, or do without, but if you want 7% bodyfat or a sixpack you have to give things up, suffer a little.. Once goals are reached then you can endulge. We have our whole lives to eat that garbage.

Ive made sweet potato chips before! I know they sound weird but they are honestly VERY good. just slice a sweet potato VERY thin, like chips. Spray with Pam non-sticky butter flavour spray, and sprinkle with cinnamon and splenda. Then bake in the oven until crispy. I swear very good!!

I eat pickles instead of chips. A bit high in sodium, but a bit lower in fat too.

Baked pita chips are truly the best thing ever and saved me from slipping. You can make them yourself and there's a company, Stacy's, that makes them, which you can find in most major market health food stores (sounds like spam, but its not!

The "Lite" Kettle corn is a good replacement. It has lots of fiber, which negates some of the carbs, and you still get that salt/crunchy thing going on.

Nuts - I have almonds, peanuts, pumpkin seeds on my desk at work. In moderation, they are actually good for you, they take the edge off, and with a little sea salt (very little) or tamari they are excellent. I have trouble keeping them stocked, everyone stops by and grabs some.
