    Need some help

Yeah i'm a 15 year old guy.......16 in october. But i've been working out for about 2 years now off and on. Well about 6 months ago I really started going at it full steam and not slacking like I used to. Well the thing is is that i'm an ectomorph to the extreme and it's really hard for me to gain weight.....well good weight, as in lean muscle. I've read various threads on here, but none of them really seem to go with this. I eat like crazy. I can't seem to put on any decent weight though. I lift a lot and I gained a little bit of weight from that, but i'm mostly just getting "ripped" but not big. Well I eat plenty of the right foods. But i'm looking for something more. My parents won't allow me to buy and protein powder, or creatine, or any weight gainers of that sort. So I have to use natural foods. Well I was just wondering if anyone knew of any shakes or anything I could make out of just natural foods that will help me put on the "good" weight! thanks

That's ridiculous that your parents won't let you have protein powder
and creatine. You should persuade them by educating them on the supplements.

Do not know of any "natural" foods you can put in a shake to make you big. Guess you will just have to try to eat more than you are.

Just eat whatever Mom will put in front of you. Maybe they can't afford to get you supplements. Just eat all the burgers, mac and cheese and chicken that she will make, and offer to take seconds. Dont worry about putting into a shake. Putting it into a shake doesnt make it magic. Just eat. You are only 16, things will come. I applaud your physical fitness desires, way to go. Thought about joining the Army?? They feed you and let you work out alot. and they give you a place to sleep, and pay you.

is it only a money thing that they won't let you get it, cause if it is then that's understandable, but if not then that is ridiculous, "no don't eat the protein powder, go use that money i gave you for some hamburgers"

Being 16, I can understand a parents concern about taking supplements, especially if they are uneducated as to what protein powder is....Its not harmful....But your still very young....You could probably eat whatever you want and gain some size....Dont worry too much about the supplements....youlll have plenty of time for that stuff, your only 16....Just eat whatever they give you and continur to lift hard....dont slack like youve been saying you have.....good things come to those who wait and lift hard....

When I first began adding whey protein into my diet and EFA's as well, my parents were difficult. You need to present them with positive beneficial information about what it is that you want to take. You really dont need the creatine, or weight gainers, the whey protein would help you in getting enough essential protein. Rather than arguring with them, sit down and talk about why you feel you need it, print off some scientific information, etc.

as for homemade shakes without the whey- sure, cottage cheese, yogurt, milk, berries, tofu even(tasteless), etc.

Thanks...I guess lol. I am actually VERY educated when it comes to supplements, and nutrition, and stuff like that. It's like my life. I've read countless books by the great bodybuilders....including my favorite "the complete encylclopedia to modern day bodybuilding" by arnold schwarzenegger (the best BB ever). It's my life. I know a lot about it, my parents just won't listen to me. They know that I study this stuff, and I treat the books like the bible, but they still just don't let me take them. It's not a money issue, i'd pay for it, but my parents think it's going to do something to me. I'll get them to give in eventually but for now i'm just going to have to eat normal food. I only asked about making a "natural" shake because I didn't know what would taste ok, I know a lot about nutrition and stuff, so I know what would be beneficial for me to eat, but i'm not going to eat something that makes me wanna throw up either.. I know that making a shake doesn't make it magic, and I eat like crazy....believe me. I take seconds and thirds sometimes. But I figured instead of taking a leftover peice of chicken out of the fridge to eat, I could just whip up something fast. Well thanks anyway though.

And by the way, it's not your life. You are only 16 and living in their house. You must follow their rules. I know, I know, they don't own you. However they are morally, ethically, lovingly and lawfully required to take care of you. Give them a break. Don't make the same mistake many other children do and push away because parents make rules that the kid doesnt like. I am speaking from experience having raised a 21 year old beautiful girl.

Who said that i don't respect them? who said that they don't have any power over me? who said I won't respect their rules? I'm not pushing away. I just said that one of these days they'll probably give in and let me take it. That's it. And as far as it being my life......I didn't mean it literally.
