you dont need bars at all. do a search here, they are not highly adovcated by many, as well IMO too.
cottage cheese is easily portable, or just about any meat that is precooked and in a little soft-cooler. boiled eggs, cans of tuna, etc.

can anyone tell me some cheap sources of protein because the bars are 2.50 and only 32 grams and i can only afford one a day right now. i know milk is one but is there any that you can carry around because its hard to carry milk, im ectomorphic body frame so i can have protein and calories if that makes a difference. thanks for your help, michael

Certain foods have a lot of protein, but check out the net and you can find some cheap deals on protein powder. I usually buy ON.

Your friendīs whey protein supply.
As said before, a can of tuna is probably the best. A great source of protein, and very portable, and I am quite fond of the taste. As long as you get a little lunchbox/cooler going, you can take about anything anywhere, including milk.
I've been using allthewhey.
In this link is a shopping list in a word document. This may help.

i dont understand why everyone falls into "the bar trap." just because something has "x" amount of protein doesnt mean shit. you have to look at the carbs, fats, sugars, etc also.Originally Posted by ihateschoolmt
