I woke up this morning everythign was fine had my breakfast, did my cardio, had my snack then lifted some weights an hour after that I started seeing white dots for a little bit, I thought it was from staring at the computer too much so I went up stairs to experiment with my first blender ever (note NEVR put rolled oats in your milkshake, my god that stuff is nasty..) by this time I was getting a little bit of a headache...I thought it was because I didn't drink any water yet today (I was use to getting in 1.5Litres by that time), but instead I went and took a shower, after that I could barely move, I had a headsplittling headache and was nausea (I don't know how to spell it ) so I thought I needed some fluid/food, so I went upstairs tried my shake which was nasty and I couldn't stomach, so after 1 sip of that I kinda fell to the floor, then ha dto pick myself up after a little bit and run to the bathroom and threw up basically everything I ate for the entire day. Then through my mom yelling at me about how I'm eating all this "healthy" food so I should be completely healthy (so I guess healthy food in her opion is french fries, pizza the whole deep fried stuff) I took 2 tylenols and drank a little bit of water and went layed down..after about 10 mins I threw up so more, drank a little bit more water and selpt for 4 hours. So my question is, should I be trying to eat something? I kinda feel like I could handle it (and I don't want my weight lifting to go to waste) but if I move around I feel nausea and I still have a little bit of a headache..what should I do?
you did cardio then liftted weights w/o drinking any water...that is your problem
I love my whey & whole oats shakes !
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.
Sounds like you may have some kind of virus. Me personally, I'd chill out and call the doctor. Maybe try having some soup and crackers and see if you can keep that down. Take it easy and I hope you feel better soon.
well I didn't do them right after one another, they were like 3 hours apart...or does that still count? And should I still drink all my water for the day?
I put in 1 tbs of PB, some strawberries, 1/2 cup of oats, 250ml of soy milk and a scoop of chocolate whey, all I could taste was the little bits of oats, it was so disgusting, lol how can you like that?
ya I might try some soup and crackers thanks
I can't stand the docttors so I'll just rest tonight and maybe not do any cardio tomorrow and see how I feel.
That sounds like a nasty enough combination to make anyone sick
Just oats and whey. You don't need milk and berries and pb. Gross!

Sounds like your sick to me. Im no doctor, but it might be food poisoning or a virus. As far as seeing spots after lifting, a lot of times i get real light headed and see spots for a little bit after doing heavy squats but sitting down and taking a break usually clears that right up. If it continues more than a few days, go see a doctor.
ya it was weird I had to keep rubbing my eyes, it might have been because I rectently decided to try out P/RR/S and this week was my first shock session and even though it lasted 10 mins (I don't rest inbetween sets) it was pretty tough.
The bright light and the splitting headache.. I'm no a doctor but that could have been a migraine headache you just experienced. I get them, but with me I get tunnel vision and a sensitivity to light for about 30 mins, when that clears up, then I get the splitting headache. I only get them 2 or 3 times a year, and I take Imitrex for it. They are worth their weight in gold.. You may want to check with your doctor..
I've only ever had that bad a headache once before but I never saw bright spots everywhere, the tylenol helped it a little but not alot. I more than likely will go to the doctors but if I can I want to avoid that place like a plague, I just really really hate doctors/hospitals

I hope you don't ever get it again.. If it was a migraine, without the proper medication, that shit is a killer..
lol I learned that the heard way, after I got sick I had absoutley no energy and was in so much pain I had to lay on the floor for a while, not to mention I was frezzing like hell
BTW thanks ncgirl21 that soup and crackers seems to be settling fine, and thanks everyone for the help.
Tom_B: Stay hydrated. Keep drinking your liquids and try to keep some food in your stomach. Try to keep it clean but if you can't try something that will keep you over, maybe some bread or rice. I never end up going to docotrs b/c I hate em so I would just deal with things on my own. Keep fluids and food in your system get plenty of rest and when you think your all well and good to go back to the gym wait another day or two. Those virus's always stay hidden for a little bit longer and as soon as you hit the weights it willc ome right back out.
I use to get migrains, same thing would happen to me as it did to spike. They really suck. I ended up needing some glasses and pills to get rid of mine. I would say get some rest, always helped my migrains. If the light bothers you the way it does for me just stay in a dark or dim room for a while and if so try to sit in a reclined chair or something b/c if you lay down the second you get up you ussually get dizzy and naseous agin.
As for the shake thats an awsome shake what are you talkin about heh! I use to drink those and they are damn tasty. I always felt they were a cheat b/c they tasted so good. But straight up oats and whey is so so, I can deal with it.

Thanks alot deadbolt that sounded just like my situation, I had to cover my eyes with my arm cause of the light, and I had to throw up right after I layed down for a little but got up really fast cause my mom was yelling about the mess I made making the milkshake. lol I'm just gonna try make an oat and whey one next time
Thanks, I'm feeling alot better now, I think my problem was that I was dehydrated and just got a really really bad headache or migrain, and I was able to keep some food down.

lol except not
I was in so much pain I thought my head was gonna explode, and after the vomitting I got some really bad chest pains, then I layed down got up and throw up some more which just made my chest pains/headache alot worse so I had to sit in a chair with my head in my face untill I feel asleep for like 4 hours.
I once vomitted after having 2 McFlurry's in a row...lol....Just thought I'd put in my two cents. How are you feeling now Tom? I think you should take a few days off from lifting, cardio, etc.
