    Should I eat salty?

I prefer salty foods but I'm wondering it's good to eat with salt, or without it...I'm going for the bulk again but i don't want to gain and outrageous ammount of fat either

Salt is not good for you. There is plenty enough salt exisiting in foods you will eat.

    wrong...

if you cook 90% of your food like most of us do here you are probably have a low sodium intake. there are several recent posts regarding sodium. do a search.

I eat a lot of tuna and cottage cheese and if that is part of your diet you do not need additional sodium.

depending on the size of the athete an intake of 3-7 grams of sodium a day is fine...sodim is an essential nutrient

You do have to remember even if you cook 90 % of your food if you are using things like tomato sauce, canned tomatoes, barbecue sauces, marinades, etc you are going to have a lot of sodium added in there. I never add salt to foods and do not have a problem. I do not think lack of sodium is much of a problem for most individuals.

Mhmm I'm trying to add weight..I read that Sodium causes you to keep water in your body..That can be good AND bad...Good thing is you gain weight faster and bad thing is that it can take away your "RIPPED AND CUT" shape...

I already did a search and read some things ^^

Right, it depends on how much salt is already in your diet. I think his main question is if he should eat a lot of salt so he can maintian water so he can bulk up. I am not sure of the answer to that.

Also I should have been more clear on salt. I did not mean to say salt is bad for you, I should have said too much salt can be bad for you.

if you have a high water intake it is not likely that you will not retain a lot of water from a moderate to high sodium intake...but I would not consume more salt just as an attempt to gain water weight...

3L is not a lot of water. 5-6L a day is what most of us here drink.

You DO NOT need 5-6 L of water per day ..thats just absurd...6 L of water = 13 lbs = 9% of my weight...Basically you're saying I should consume roughly 10% of my weight in water...Yeah..riiight..
It's recommended to consume 2L water per day for average person...If i work out more than 2hrs a day I might go drink 4L, but usually i drink 3L a day on a non-excessive work out day

You are a bodybuilder are you not?

BULLSHIT! You DO need more water than 2-3L a day. That is such a small amount. Why don't you read up in the stickies and maybe YOU will learn something instead of coming in here thinking you know everything when in fact you have been wrong about everything. Typical child!

    Why so much water?

kidding me? 3 Liters? 6l is ONLY 1.5 gallons. 3 liters per day, for a fairily active person is not much at all. I drink about 2 gallons per day. Of course you dont NEED this much water but it is the best natural diuretic there is, and the more water you drink the less you retain. If you love your salt, you better drink all the water you can get.
    Damn
