    Bulking Opinions

    Hello,

I'm curious as to what many on this boards oppinions are of bulking.

As in do you let yourself go a bit and lose the abs in place of some chub or do you keep your calories super clean so you never lose your abs?

clean healthy eating with adequate calories slightly above normal, slowly making increasments as required. Heavy lifting, plenty of rest and water.
the quality (ie nutrients, etc) is very important for optimal LBM gain.

    Right now plan will be:

    1) High protein (1.5g/lb) = thermogenic benefits
    2) High cho = high insulin = good for anabolism
    3) Tons of fiber (mainly supplemental) to keep me full
    4) Low/moderate fat
    5) Total cals approaching 4000 (200 lb guy)

Re: cleanliness, I plan to use multivitamin/multimineral, fish oil, extra electrolytes and what fruits and veggies my GI system and wallet can handle. Pretty much covers the bases. Also, if need be I will use quite a few polyols and other fiber like substances to keep cals high while not gaining very much fat. Simple trick that appears to work for me (need more testing of this, mmm sf ice cream).

And about how fat I will get. I am going to try to stay near my setpoint, using 3-4 UD 2.0 style cutting days to drop excess flab very quickly on an as needed basis. Hopefully most time will be spent at the 4000 kcal level =D
