    Protien Bars for after workout?

I have been using protein bars for after my workout protein intake as they are
convenient to carry with me to work in my bag. However, after reading the protein bars thread it seems a bad idea.

Is really that bad to have a bar four days a week? What do other people do regarding the post-protien intake? I go to the gym directly after work so find it impossible to lug those great tubs of protien around (and mesuring it out first means it would go everywhere in my bag!)

1 scoop in a rubbermaid container. Add water from the waterfountain at the gym, shake well and drink.

Rubbermaid? Is that the same as Tupperware? (Plastic container type things, I am from the UK) How do I know how much water to add or is it guess work?

So protein bars a no-no then?

Remember, all these comments are the ideal, scientificly best way to do it, generally speaking. So, it is BEST to have a Whey protein shake within 10 minutes, at least within 1 hour. This should be about 40-50g of protein. If you cant do that, then how about a couple of protein bars. And I have no problem with protein bars whatsoever. That thread was started by someone supposing that info, I never saw where they quoted anything or anyone. I took a look at the 4-5 different protein bars that I have around here and didnt see any missing calories. I am vegetarian and in the military, so I use protein bars quite a bit. I have at least 2 per day, and I only have about 9-10%BF. But there are plenty of supplement places that have shake "shakers". Like someone above said, just put the powder in it and then mix it with H2O from the fountain and drink on the ride home.
THAT WHICH DOES NOT KILL ME, CERTAINLY MUST MAKE ME STRONGER

Rubbermaid , Tupperware = same thing Just make sure you use a leak proof one as you dont want it dripping along the sides and squirting all over the gym when you shake it.

I add 1 scoop and fill it upto the 500ml mark. Water depends on how much water you want to consume. I am very thirsty and finish it in under 30secs. At first it might take you longer and you might feel very full if you are not used to having that much of water at one time. Sip it slowly for a few mins to quench your thirst. Once you get used to it you could drink it much faster.

you want whey protein & carbs after training. for carbs you can use either glucose based sugars like dextrose or maltodextrin or whole oats, rice, etc...but you don't want a lot of fiber in your post WO shake...
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.
