    replacement for chicken breasts?

hey guys. i have a problem, i want to eat about 3 chicken breasts a day to follow my meal plan. but i just cant afford to buy that much. a pack of 2 chicken breasts cost 8 bucks so it would be like 64 bucks a week just for that

is there anything i could eat instead ? maybe just have some whey protien in it's place. and only have the chicken for dinner?

I buy bags of individually frozen Tyson chicken breasts from Sam's for $12 a bag. There are 14 in there I think. It is a good deal. You can also buy eggs and just eat the whites. They are pretty cheap too. I get a crate of 36 for less than $3 at Sam's too. Or if there is a Costco around you, that is a good deal too.

I see you're in Canada so the prices are probably different. Here you can get it as cheap as 2 bucks a pound. Do you have any wholesale type stores that sell in large quantities? It's cheaper that way as well.

I usually buy the 4kg boxes of frozen chicken breasts from either Safeway or Save-on-Foods... you can usually get them on sale at one or the other store for about $30.
I also cook up a big Turkey every other week or so, it's really not very much hassle, just throw it in the oven and then de-bone it when it's cold so all you have to do is dig in! Makes a nice change from chicken too.

You could replace some chicken with egg whites and nuts. I would eat some chicken still.

I usually go to Sam's with an occasional trip to Costco. I load up on Tyson boneless skinless chicken breasts, frozen Mahi Mahi, frozen Salmon fillets, frozen catfish fillets, eggs gallore.....so much good food!

This is not a good idea. The frozen breasts are loaded with sodium... I recommend fresh chicken.

I eat tuna and sardines a lot. Sardines have the added bonus of fish oil too. I also recently purchased some egg protein which helps. Egg whites are another good source of protein, but they are expensive too.

Hey BritChick, could you pretty please write down how you roast a turkey ( how big, how long to cook, at what temperature, do you season it at all), as I can only get a whole, frozen turkey and it's really expensive here ( it's like 4-5 times more expensive than chicken), so I'd feel awful to waste it. Thanks!
