    salad

I often go to pizza hut where i just eat a salad. As it is eat as much as you can get into their bowl I build myself a 'towering mountain' usually of sweet corn, reds beans, a little lettuce and 1000 island sauce (adding cheeswe to this which I smuggle in).

I eat an enormous amount but thinking it is just salad, I am not worried about putting on weight/fat.

    Well maybe I am wrong.

The salad bar offers red beans, sweet corn, green beans, green bell pepper (paprika) lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes.

I am just to lose body fat so can you tell me what the best combination is (but I really like the sweet corn)- or what to avoid -- and how much I should eat.

    Thanks

Holy Shit - You might as well have the damn Pizza.

If you are cutting then get rid of the corn, 1000 island dressing, cheese and only use a small amount of red beans. Instead pile it up with lettuce, cucumber, celery, mushrooms, onions then use vinegar and a little olive oil for dressing.

it scares me what people potray a "healthy" salad as..... some salads with dressing, bacon bits, cheese, croutons, etc have more fat and calories than fast food burgers and fries.

As Jodi said, fresh veggies, add grilled meats or tuna, healthy dressings(check recipe section) or just use spices and vinegar or low fat plain yogurt w.spices.

    Agreed!!

You can not eat too much in terms of low-calorie salad ingredients such as lettuce, cucumber, tomato, mushrooms etc... The Corn and Red Beans are great as healthy carbohydrate/starch sources, but they are much more calorie dense than the other salad ingredients - so you would want to limits these to healthy portion sizes. However, if fat-loss is youor goal you need to drop the calorie laddened extra's such as the dressing and cheese!

Better dressing/toppings are things such as lemon juice, vinegar, black pepper, low-sodium soy sauce, herbs/spices, olive oil (limit the amount) etc.
