Bananas are full of vitamins and good yummy stuff that will help you in the long run. Especially with digestion, which can be an issue with someone who takes in vast amounts of protein. I use nanners and strawberries in my Portein shakes. Have to have some fruits somewhere in our diet.
That is true, but their level of potasium is good for you and the fiber. Use 1/4 of a med. banana a day or every two days will not kill your cutting. IMO
Maybe there are better options, but overall bananas are very healthy and a good "energy food".
Anyway if the guy is craving a banana and it won't hinder progress in any way, why try to deny the craving. He'll just keep dreaming about the damn banana, LOL
if taken post weights workout with a PWO shake of 40g whey and 60g maltodextrin + ALA?
I would skip the banana post workout. First of all, the sugar in fruits is low GI, and you are obviously going for an insulin spike. Second, the sugar refills liver glycogen, not muscle glycogen stores (Although probably both to some extent).
However, I do suggest the occasional piece of fruit while cutting. You should definitely moderate it though. I eat a few things people advise against when cutting (Milk, bread, and fruit), but I still see desireable results. Just moderate your intake. My limits were two slices of bread per day, one 8oz glass of milk, and one 8oz glass of juice or single pieces of fruit. Worked for me.

The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...

My thoughts exactly, I know when I go on my cut I'm gonna be taking away all dairy and fruits (might limit myself to 1 pear a day)
If you wanna see and get the best results then stay away from the banna and dairy (take some calcium citrate) but if you all you really want is so - so results then go ahead and eat the banana.
Sure, why not? If you are looking to reach sub 10% bodyfat, then it is probably going to require a greater reduction of the items that I mentioned in your diet. I say just stick with it for now; if you reach a sticking point in your cutting phase, then you should reduce the amount of fruit in your diet. If you are really worried about it, then save the fruit for refeeds.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
Why even have something in your cut that is hindering your results? There are much better fruits out that should be eaten while cutting such as pears, peaches, apples, berries, grapefruits. Bananas are one of the worst. They are on the high side of the GI and a medium GL. They promote quite the insulin response which is what we should strive to stay away from while cutting.

I thought fructose was fructose, but I guess not. As I said, save the bananas for refeed days if you are really worried about slowing down progress. I think that's reasonable.

ALA does not spike insulin - it is a 'glucose disposal agent', which means it helps direct glucose into your tissues/muscles. This is why it is great post-workout (as it aids in muscle recovery and glycogen regeneration). It is also excellent in your general daily intake - just to aid in the overall glucose utilisation in your body (especially if you are somewhat insulin resistant).
On another note it is also a brilliant anti-oxidant (another reason to take it post-workout).
I DONT KNOW IF SOMEONE ALREADY SAID THAT, but i love banans too and im a sucker to put them in my vanila shakes, so i just got me banana cream protein shakes, they are mmm yummy, i do put some sunndried grapes in my shake just to sweeten the "finnaly" up for me because they sink to the bottom and i like them because they are sweet, they make my last part of the shake really nice to take

I dont think the question was are there better fruits you could eat besides a banana... it was are they ok while cutting... yes they are
I disagree. I think they are one of the the worst while cutting.

I will never believe a calorie is a calorie. I've seen enough studies to disprove that theory.
Bananas, typically, are healthy but they will stall progress while cutting. Why can't you people understand that. Eat the freaking banana and when you can't lose anymore and progress slow down, ditch it.
This aint rocket science people!
