    Is this a good idea?

Just wondering if it is a good idea to have gatorade during my workouts which consists of weights only no cardio?

i vote for good ol' h20. I used to drink gatorade during my workouts, did nothing so i stick to water. Gatorade was formulated for higher endurance types of exercise like cardio, running etc so it really wont do much of anything for most people during weight training. Now if your in the gym for 2 hours a day and rest like 5 sec in between sets then thats a diff story.
    Damn

Bump to this. These drinks are more for long glycogen depleting type workouts.

You should never drink anything other than good ol H20 during your workout (IMO). I get your point about keeping Coristol levels down. However taking in anything other than water during your workout will pull water away from your muscles resulting in less blood and nutrients when and where your body needs them. As blood will be needed in your gut to digest whatever else you have taken in. Water will keep you hydrated more better than Gatorade or any other sugery drink and is anabolic in its own right.
