    Snacks/Lunches for school?

I'm wondering if anyone on here can share any ideas on what they take to work, school, etc. for lunches, snacks, breaks or whatever?

When it comes to breakfeasts I think I'm ok, thinks like oats (not to high in sodium right?), eggs (mostly whites, maybe once a week, allergies), left over roast beef, etc. However, my parents keep those yogurt bars and pudding snacks for my younger sister so I'm wondering what kinds of things are good to take. I always take a scoop of whey in my shaker and one in a baggie on workout days but you have the whole rest of the day. I know things like carrots, apples, oranges, raspberries and blueberries (fresh or frozen, not the syrupy kind, and not all the time), celery (natural peanut butter on them?), etc. are probably good ideas but are there other things to give more variety and maybe more taste? And what does everyone take for lunches? I know sandwiches aren't the best, I try to stick with leftover chicken breasts or meat but as prices get higher, thats not as often so there more sandwiches, and can't always go to Costco or Superstore and buy the big things of chicken breasts (High in sodium too), so is there any things other people take? I hope this question isnt to much of a bother...I honestly really appreciate any help. Thanks very much.

I save a protein bar for work, school, or any other time that I might be in a situation where eating is tough. I also make tuna/chicken salad quite often, coupled with pita bread.

sandwiches are fine. as long as they have a lot of meat in em (like 1/4 pound). unless maybe youre cutting... i dont know. cottage cheese in a tupperware... i like string cheese too but make sure u dont have too much other fatty things in the meal, theyre kinda high in fat... but no carbs in the string cheese.
id stick with like a sandwish and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. err youre the one with the milk/egg allergy aint ya? maybe the CC isnt such a good idea.. or the string cheese for that matter.

do what cow suggests, make a tuna salad and put it in a pita. thats probly a better carb/protein ratio than a normal sandwich. but id say sandwiches are fine.

I have refrigeration and a microwave so that broadens my options a bit. I like to prepare my lunch the night before. I usually take hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, I’ll take a protein shake, mix it up at home and slam it in a cleaned water bottle, give er a little shake I'm ready to go. I like to eat tuna right from the can, cheap and easy, low fat cottage cheese..ext.... Depending on diet and the time I'll also take baked potatoes, chicken breasts, and bocca burgers. Usually I try to calculate how much protein I want to take in for that given meal, and then research the different sources. I'm lucky because I'm not a picky eater. I can eat the same lunch for weeks at a time. Best of Luck to you! I'm sure you will get some great suggestions here!
