Why do you want to gain more weight at 5"4 and 132? that's a healthy weight

I have been bulking or trying to, by adding about 1500 calories per day to what I once ate last year, and have seen a very litte gain in weight using all clean, natural, or healthy foods.
My freind on the other hand has upped his calories the same eating eggs, bacon, bread, pizza, mcdonalds, crap, crap, and more crap and I have seen him gain 7 pounds in one week.
Is that the right way to go? just eat tons and tons of crap and gain weight fast, or is it better the way I am doing it by eating clean and going slowly?

Eat at Mickey D`s once or twice a week,as well as visiting an all you can eat buffet once a week.
This couple with your healthy clean eating will help immensely.

What you are doing is much better. With your friend eating all that saturated fats and refined carbohydrates to cause him to gain 7 pounds in one week, all he will be achieving is something along the lines of gains like 50% water, 40% fat and 10% muscle... If he keeps it up for longer than that the ratio would change to 80% fat, 20% muscle (if he is lucky)...Originally Posted by soxmuscle
Remember - Slow and steady wins the race. If you are not gaining on what you are eating now then increase your intake or decrease your energy output... After you make sure you are getting about 1.5g of protein per pound (which for you would be ~ 200g) you should really then focus on good, low GI carbohyrates and adequate healthy fats... More protein is not really needed and it is the other macronutrients that will come into play to help you.
Continue to eat well, train hard and rest adequately and you will grow. Just give it time...
