Cool Help plz! PWO shake (Dextrose and Maltodextrin)

"You need a simple and complex carb mixed into your shake (a 50/50 mix of Dextrose and Maltodextrin is most optimal)" Could someone plz tell me what is this and how do you do it?

dextrose and maltodextrin are both glucose based sugars. you may be able to find them at a home brewery store or at a supplement shop. you can use a combination of them, so if you wanted to take 70 grams of carbs with your PWO shake you would use 35 from dextrose and 35 from maltodextrin. if you can't find both you can use one or the other...

It's a shake intended to spike your insulin after a workout. Higher insulin levels mean more nutrients are shuttled to skeletal muscle. After a workout, it is much less likely this insulin spike is going to lead to fat storage, as it probably would under normal circumstances. Instead, it is going to help you to jump start recovery.

With that said, I don't bother with insulin spiking. I store fat easily, and it is definitely not necessary to gain muscle mass.
