I eat 4 meals a day, and you can check out my pics to see what my abs look like. Characteristics of a diet? Personally, I have about a 50/30/20 breakdown of the macros (protein/carbs/fat) throughout all my meals.

my advice is to keep track of the meals you eat for a week. after the week is over, research on the internet and try to find out how many cals youre eating now. then try reducing it by 500-1000. also, the split of protein/fat/carbs i liked was 33/33/33 to cut. at the end i stopped having results so i reduced the fat and carbs, so it looked more like 40/30/30. 4-5 meals a day worked for me. i tried to be eating every 3-3.5 hours. i found i could get away with this but most people on this board think 5-7 smaller meals are better.

Diet would be what works for you. My abs stay visable even with a layer of chunkiness over them. But when I cut, I have a full 6 pac.

following a good diet, how long does it take to see actual results in the cutting?

weigh yourself at the same time of day, once per week... like right when you wake up. after 2 weeks, if you havent lost ANY weight, youre doing something wrong.
