    before spin

I was just wandering what i could eat before a spin class in the morning. I have always worked out in the morning but I just started to go to a spin class and I feel like I need to eat in the morning before it because I have been getting puny during the class like I feel like puking . The class is at 5:30 in the morning so I really dont have time to make much I was just trying to find something quick and simple?

    Worddog....where in Tx are ya?

When I do spin (isn't very much lately) I would have a lil oatmeal about 30 to 45 mins before going. Would help me in not wantig to during class.

I spin at night and do not eat anything for a couple of hours prior to class or I will cramp up. If I spun at 5:30 AM, I would probably eat a bowl of oatmeal before class.

Isn't it b/c of the originator or something? Back in the day the bike or method used had something to do with spin...thats why the name stuck. I am not 100% sure though sorry.

Spinning is more like HIIT than an aerobic class. So you want to make sure you eat carbs pre and post class.

    The wheels spin.

Riders will say "I need to get out and spin" ... but they're talking about the spinning of the pedals. If you look at a bike from the side, it does spin in circles ...

    The oatmeal sugg sounds good

Just eat a balanced meal. Have some oatmeal, a couple of eggs, and a glass of milk (Something like that). This will provide you with low GI carbs to keep you going, moderate GI carbs to give you a bit of a jump-start early in the morning, fats to help streamline the conversion of these carbs into glucose, fats to provide an alternative source of energy, and protein to help repair any tissue damage that occurs.

Spinning is the registered name of the program created by Johhny G - a cycling/fitness nut. If your gym is not specifically spinning certified, they cannot call it spinning, they call it cycling or something else.
