    Day after?

1st of all I hardly ever drink, maybe once a month, maybe. But last night was new years after all.

What do you guys eat after a night of heavy drinking. When i got back last night i had a half cup of cc with a tbsp of natty pb. I only slept about 5 hours, but this morning I had a hard time downing a bowl of oatmeal and 6 hard boiled egg whites. My body feels like shit and it looks like i gained some water weight. Should i make today a low carb day? Should I decrease my cals for today. Should I shut the hell up and eat normal?

thanks for the help guys. By the way today is my off day if it matters at all.

the only real cure is time.
The best thing to do the day after heavy drinking is down lots of water and try to rest if possible.

    • Hair of the dog- (
    • a combination of 1 fresh raw unbeaten egg, 1 douse of Worcestershire sauce, 1 souse of whiskey or brandy, and 1 slosh of Tabasco is the pick-me-up of last resort.)
    • a solid fry-up to still the body’s jitters
    • Hot ’n’ spicy. Others, for reasons unknown, swear by chilli and spice. Chicken soup also has its advocates.
    • Try Sprite and & up and BURP it out.......

Sounds like you are just dehydrated from the alcohol.

    ditto...
After a few bad experiences, I've learned that
whenevr I drink, first of all I make sure
that I have a nice full stomach of good food,
not fast food junk, good food. After I've finished
my episode of drinking, before I go to bed, I drink water
until my stomach ifs full, and I've never had a hangover.

The best thing to do is just eat and rest

Maintain your normal calories as you would...the weight gain is just water weight. Be sure to consume PLENTY of water b/c as jill said you sound dehydrated.

For future drinking once you get home...if you can still stand consume as much water as possible and have a straight protein shake to get something into your muscles very fast followed by something to last you the whole night. I say this b/c ussually when people go out "partying" they go many hours without food so the fast absorbing protein is the same as like a post workout shake...to feed the body fast then an hour or so later do as you did with the CC and PB. The more water you drink the night before the better you feel in the morning...and we all know thats better then what your going through right now.

bah, i just made it a cheat day....

its hard to drink water when u dont remember what u did that night.
as i black out a lot, im doomed for a hangover.
my appetite was crap, so i just ate pizza all day. better than forcing food down my throat when i already feel so poo.

so what works for me... is say f it. have the hangover for a day, but just dont drink for a while . no sense in killing urself to not gain 1/2 a pound.

Any other time of the year I don't think a 1/2lb would matter to me but while cutting for a comp its a big deal. But then again I don't drink when cutting.

I don't really care about the fat gain its more keeping the hangover as minimal as possible LOL....not my idea of fun.
