Too much protein for me?

    Too much protein for me?

    I hear that if you want to build muscle you not only need a calorie surplus but you need to consume 1 gram of protein per lb of bodyweight. I weight 153 and I suplment about 60 to 100 grams of protein depending on if its a workout day or not. On resting day, 3 times a day (breakfast,lunch,dinner), I supplement protein (20grams each time). On a workout day I supplment 40grams right after working out in addition to the other times I supplment. My question is do I supplement too much protein and should I be consuming 153 grams of protein a day?

    BTW: My diet is clean and I am consuming plently of carbs and fats. I am making sure that I get all the EFAs and other vitamins and minerals. I consume about 2,700 calories a day.

    Solid foods are always better then suppliments. As for protein many say 1g per lb of LBM is the bare minimum. I've heard of some people going as high as 3g's per lb of LBM but thats overboard. If you have the option to consume real foods do so...but if not theres nothing wrong with supplimenting it.

    I don't think 153g's is to much...in fact it may be to low depending on your goals and curent meal plan.

    Oh sorry. I forgot to mention that I ambulking. This bulk cycle is probably going to end January 1, 2006.

    Well your calories seem pretty good but the protein is low. I'd say def up it some...you must consume alot of fats and carbs to reach that calorie range.
