Hi, I am just wondering if Safflower oil is a good source of fat. i like to add it to my oatmeal and whey protein when i need the extra fat. It contains 120 calories per Tbsp, 14g fat per Tbsp, 1g Saturated fat per tbsp, 11g Polyunsaturated fat per Tbsp, and 2g Monounsaturated fat per tbsp.
Flax and fish oil get very expensive so i limit how much I take of that a day (even though i make sure I do take them everyday).
Any other good cheap fats/oils to add to our fat loss diets? Thank you!
Safflower oil won't do what fish oil or flax oil will do. Expensive? How so? I can get a bottle of 300 caps of fish oil at Costco for less than $7.00. You can get a bottle of 100 caps at bulknutrition for 3 dollars. Its cheap and is way better than safflower oil

safflower and olive oils are great and nutritious, when used in moderation. fish oil caps may be a good supplement, but by no means are they necessary to lose fat.
so, IMO youll be fine with safflower oil. its a good source of fat as far as i'm concerned. some people prefer fish oil caps, but use whatever works best.

nono, i was not denying this. i don't personally use them, so i don't swear by them like others do. i was just saying safflower is a good fat source in comparison with other fats (butter, fat from beef). so my point was, safflower's a good source, but not the best source (like fish oils for instance).
I eat safflower mayo every day. It's definitely a healthy source of fat.
There is no superior source of fat that one should focus on. The idea is to get a balance of the various kinds of fat. In terms of omega-3 fatty acids, many claim fish oil is superior for various reasons. I choose to intake both flax and fish oils to supplement omega-3 intake.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
