Calories To Burn Fat
Anybody have a good reply.... An older lady asks my wife how many calories does she have to burn in order to loose 1 lb of fat..... It varies so much not sure how to answer. She probably sees the monitor on the machines telling her she is burning X amount of calories per minute of exercise.

But you don't need to burn 3600 cals on the treadmill. You need to take into consideration your BMR and cals eaten as well. So if your body burns 1200 cals just resting and you eat 1000 cals that day you've burned 200 cals just by dieting, then add in another 300 cals from exercise so that's 500 cals you burned that day. I know I'm getting a bit off track but I'm just showing the big picture.

It doesn't vary at all, it's the same for everyone. 3500 calories is equal to 1 pound of fat whether your a 350 pound man or a 100 pound female. The scale may move in either direction because of water, but unless there's been a deficit of 3500 calories created either with both diet and exercise or one or the other, no FAT will be lost. |
