Post workout Insulin Spike
I know you guys hate this subject(sorry) But I was going to try doing an insulin spike after my workouts so I picked up some gatorade powder. But the first ingredient on the list is sucrose and dextrose is second, is sucrose OK for this?
Also-
should I drink it right after Im done working out?(at the gym)
Or when I get home?(10 mins later)
Before or after my whey shake?
I dont want to gain alot of fat but have heard its very beneficial to gaining muscle so I was going to drink like 25 grams of it or something because Im smaller. Any advice/opinions are appreciated.
you will hear a few different sides regarding to post workout spike..
i think the happy-medium "general" consensus is that while it is not necessary, it CAN be beneficial IF it works for you
it doesn't seem to work for everyone, so you should try it for yourself
to see if it works for you, IMMEDIATELY post workout i would drink 2 scoops whey with about 30g dextrose. some people take less some people take more...it just depends on how you react to it. obviously if you take too much, the excess has potential for being stored as fat. but many are arguing since you are taking it immediately post workout, to an extent, it will not be stored as fat. i don't remember the exact explanation, but this is what i have heard/read.
2lb of dextrose is like $3 from 1fast400.com
currently i am just eating a large banana as opposed to the dextrose to see how that works out for me, but i think i'll be ordering some dextrose on my next 1fast400.com order
ehh, i wouldn't get a blend. just get your normal whey and grab some dextrose powder. call up your local GNC or health food or supplement store and ask if they carry it

Oh, ok. Thanks for responding so fast because Im going out right now.
I asked few people about the malto/dex/whey after workouts, some had negative effects, is ithat it would make them a little light headed, then about a half hour later, they would start to feel really tired.. also they would have an insane apetite about 1 hr afterwards.
