Atkins Diet And Bodyfat

Please advise me on the following. I've been cutting since the first of October. I'm finding it hard to stay with my current diet which consist of around 1800 calories with no more then 25 grams of total fat. What I would like to know is could a person still lose Bodyfat on the atkins diet which could be real high in fats? I know you can lose weigh, but my main concern is the loss of Bodyfat, not how much more weight i lose. I've allready dropped 11% in bodyfat and some 39 lbs.

Yes, it works like a charm. But, prepare to lose strength, and feel sluggish. Personally, my version of Atkins is a day where I eat less then 100g of carbs.

In my opinion you would be much better off in correcting your current diet and following a moderate, controlled diet rather than trying an 'extreme' type diet like Atkins.

25g of fat is not enough for someone who is 125 pounds... So unless you are a 4'2 midgit then you need more fat that that.

What is your current diet/training/stats and goals?

how can you be following Atkins and be getting less than 25 g of fat a day?

you say you are eating around 1800 calories....so 225 are from fat (if you eat 25 g) and the remainder would be nearly all protein...that would mean you're eating just under 400 grams of protein a day.

how are you managing that?

now i understand...i misunderstood and thought your current diet was Atkins.

i totally agree with everyone else that your calories are too low. i'd prefer you stick with a more balanced approach than Atkins (you won't find many fans of that plan here for good reason) and increase your food intake.

240lbs * 10cals per pound = 2400 cals daily

That number you are supposed to work down to and not go any lower.
