Milk PWO?

Ive heard milk will slow down your absorbtion of whey, but could I use fat free milk and whey right after I workout? That way I could get some carbs and my whey wont taste like crap.

Thanks

I thought so... Could someone suggest a brand of whey that tastes good with water? It doesnt even have to taste good, Im just really sick of the nasty "after-taste" I get with the whey I use now. Thanks

I've got an order of ON's chocolate mint whey on the way. It seems to be (on the opinion of others) the best tasting whey out there. I'll let you know after I've tried it.

The only one I can stand with water is Labrada proplete mixed berry burst or something like that...Only yields 20 G protein(and 6 g carbs) so I often throw in 2 scoops...Ive tried 6 different kinds and only this one makes taking it with water possible for me...but then again Im a wuss!!

Personally, I like SKIM milk PWO. It is one of the most anabolic foods you can ingest - full of carbs, protein, vitamins, minerals and growth factors!

The speed of absorption is not delayed substantially with milk (skim) as the liquid nature of the meal decreases the clotting effect of the casein on the rest of the gastric contents (much the same way that liquid fat + liquid food does not delay gastric emptying as much as solid fat and solid food).

Anyway - you are 15 yrs old, bulking and GROWING like a WEED. TAKE ADVANTAGE and drink your milk! You could also consider adding some other carbs as well - a banana or some thinly rolled oats.

I have talked about milk PWO here (Post Workout Whey), if you want to read more...
