Changing workout time, need help
Ive decided to start working out first thing in the morning. Im curious on how to eat around my workout, do you guys think that nothing prior and a good pwo shake afterwards + meal 45 min later is ok? or should I have something before as well? I was planning on just having a couple of hard boiled egg whites and a handful of cereal before i head out the door, just to have something in my stomach then workout for about an hour, have my pwo, 1 scoop whey, banana, gatorade, then have a bowl of oats about a half hour later.
Any advice would help me out alot, anyone else workout early? What do you do? |

Have a lil carbs before the workout. When I use to train with a trainer, I would do cardio at one gym on an empty tummy, when finished hop in the car with nasty boiled egg whites and a packet of oatmeal, train with him, then eat again a short while later.

I train at 6am so I get up at 5.15am and have a shake (carbs + protein) before training. It does the job. I just have everything but my whey in a shaker bottle the night before, then as soon as I wake up I just add a scoop of whey and some water. Things like whey, skim milk, a banana etc would digest fast enough to supply your body with fuel before your workout. Just give it 30 mins and you are good to go. |

If you don't want to take time add skim milk powder and protein powder to a shaker last thing at night and then in the morning add water and shake. For after your workout oats and a shake would be fine. |

I consume a complex micture of proteins and bcaa's + flax first thing in the morning then hit the weights. Post w/o I consume whey and oats. This is a style of diet I follow that someone hooked me on though.
Many will go carbs pre and post w/o. I do not though. It also depends on your goals...are you maintaining, bulking, cutting? There are different meals that should be consumed for each stage. |
