Losing Weight on Bulk Diet

Any reason why I should have lost almost 5 lbs in my first week of my bulking diet? Not eating enough? I got my diet plan from this site but don't have the time to list all I eat right now. My only guess is that since I cut out all the pizza's, subs, snacks, simple carbs, and cheeseburgers my body is just reacting to the good food going into me and will catch back up. I'm thinking I'm going to have to start eating more though.

if u were eating crap before, ur cals were prolly thru the roof, especially the fat cals...So now ur body's reacting to the change....But are u sure that ur total calories are over ur maintenance level to ensure u gain weight?

Well, it all depends on your height and weight, body comp, level of activity etc...

Only you can figure it out for yourself.

I'm using this diet Bulking with Slow Burners (Bulking w/ Slow Burners) that I got from here. I'm 6'3", I was 185lbs when I started, but I've fallen under 180 lbs for the first time in like 10 years. That worries me. I think, like crazy enough said, that my body isn't used to it. I have a high metabolism and could always eat whatever I wanted without gaining much weight. That doesn't mean what I was eating was right though. I haven't tried to calculate my calories yet, I was just trying to get on something that was better then the crap I was eating. But I'm eating more then I have right now, then I have in years. I always feel full and suprisingling, have yet to feel the need for a candy bar. I've even gotten used to splenda in my coffee. LOL Maybe I'll try and take the time to calculate my calories. THank you everyone for the help. I love the support and help people on this site give.

Crappy food also stays with you longer. It can also make you retain alot more water, so maybe you just lost some water weight? Unless your maintenance level is like 6000 and your creating a 3000 calorie deficit by eating 3000 cals a day or something.

No, I had a low maintenance level. I used to go for a full day without eating anything b/c of my schedule, work, family, etc. And when I did eat, it was usually at work with some fast food or a Sheetz quickie sandwich. I'm positive that my cals did not go down at all this last week. It's just that all the other fats, sugars, bad carbs, etc were along with them. I was a huge suger addict. I used to have several cups of coffee a day, with a ton of sugar...a coke or two, candy bars, sugar cereals every day, etc. Now, none of that.

I wouldn't worry about it to much...it may be water weight if you have cut out alot of your junk b/c its all filled with sodium. Give it another week and if you still lose weight up your cals. Of course unless you don't mind shedding a few unwanted pounds of fat.
