How do you cook your steel cut oats?

I tried the overnight thing - I guess I sleep too long because they were a little green when I got up.

I tried the microwave thing - plastic wrap doesn't really work in the microwave. HELP!

edit: I did a search but the other threads were little help

I do mine on the stove in a sauce pan. Boil then simmer, Sort of like rice.

I usually eat my steel cut oats as my first PWO solid meal (after my shake).

So before I leave for the gym in the morning I cover them with boiling water (A LOT). Then, after the gym/shower (so they soak for about 2.5 hrs) I give them a quick stir and put them in the microwave for a few minutes.

Perfect every time!

They also cook on the stove pretty easily - just cook as for normal rolled oats (only they take a lot longer).

You can usually get steelcut oats at most healthfood type stores. They are also refered to as "Irish Oats".
