    clif bars

i know everyone here shuns protein bars but what about the clif bar as a preworkout snack. i have two questions: are they a decent pre-wo snack or does it have all the unwanted "crap" in it that is in normal protein bars and is it worth it is i buy in bulk?

imo, it seems to have a good mix of complex and simple carbs if used in combination with my preworkout shake it might be benificial (instead of the simple carbs i'm eating, which, btw, is working amazingly). however, my knowledge on nutritional subjects isn't particularly great so is it a good choice or not?

They are just as bad as most protein bars:
    eg -
    Ingredients:
Organic Brown Rice Syrup, ClifPro (see package details), Organic Rolled Oats, Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Organic Peanut Butter (Organic Peanuts, Salt), Peanut Flour, Chocolate Chips (see package details), ClifCrunch (see package details), Fig Paste, Peanuts, Natural Flavors, Sea Salt, Vitamins & Minerals: Dicalcium Phosphate, Magnesium Oxide, Ascorbic Acid (Vit. C), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit. E), Ferric Orthophosphate (Iron), Beta Carotene (Vit. A), Zinc Citrate, Phytonadione (Vit. K1), Biotin, Niacinamide (Vit. B3), Calcium Pantothenate (Vit. B5), Potassium Iodide, Manganese Gluconate, Copper Gluconate, Sodium Selenite, Thiamin (Vit. B1), Chromium Chloride, Cyanocobalamin ((Vit. B12)), Sodium Molybdate, Folic Acid (Vit. B9), Riboflavin (Vit. B2), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vit. B6)
Contents for ClifPro™ (From Ingredients List): Soy rice crisps [soy protein isolate, rice flour, malt extract], organic soy flour, organic roasted soybeans.

Contents for ClifCrunch™ (From Ingredients List): Apple fiber, oat fiber, milled flaxseed, chicory extract, psyllium.

Contents for Chocolate Chips (From Ingredients List): Organic evaporated cane juice, unsweetened chocolate, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, natural flavors.

I would go for real food everytime. How is eating a banana or a bowl of oats any harder than eating a cliff bar??

    Agree with Emma
All protein bars are bad. If you really want a clif bar, have it on your cheat day
