    It's not a very good replacement IMO but once in a while it would be fine. It lacks fiber and is not that great on the gi.

    Cream of Wheat or Cream of Rye is fine. They still don't compare to oat but they are better than other alternatives. You could always eat cereals like Fiber One, All Bran, Kashi Go Lean Crunch, Uncle Sam etc, again not as good as oats but decent alternatives.

    It's cream of wheat. Just the off brand name for it. I like it as a subs. for oats when I get bored with them.

    Farina is cream of wheat? I thought it was a different porridge. I've seen it before but never tried it. When I looked it up it showed cream of wheat and farina as 2 different things?

    i'm pretty sure they are different. when i was a kid my mom would make cream of wheat, rice and farina and they were all different.

    Farina is not cream of wheat I don't believe...its more like grits if I'm not mistaken.

    Yeah, Farina is a bit whiter then cream of wheat, but they taste pretty much the same.

    hmmmm weird... I noticed on the box of Ferina the ingrediants are just Ferina (nothing else) and on Cream of Wheat it's wheat and a lot of other stuff (can't say what since I don't have it here).
