    cheapest foods

hey, this whole 2000 calories per day thing is suckin hardcore... i have no energy or libido or anything. im jumping back to 3000 a day, but i really don't have a lot of money. anyway, i was wondering what the best foods are nutrition and cost/benefit wise. some examples are:

    1 gallon 1% milk - 1600 calories - $2.75 - 582 cals/$
    2.5 lb frozen chicken breast - 1200 calories - $4.99 - 240 cals/$
    box whole wheat rotini - 1400 calories - $1.59 - 881 cals/$
    5 lb. Allthewhey.com whey - 8880 calories - $20.99 - 423 cals/$
    oatmeal - 1820 calories - $0.89 - 2045 cals/$

so, obviously, oatmeal and whey are cheap ways to eat...

any others that are really good? i just simply have no money and need to eat... what do you suggest?

    Tuna
    Eggs can be fairly cheap
    Brown rice

I've never personally ordered from either site, but you can check out www.bobsredmill.com and www.bulkfoods.com

Bulk buy. Things like dried legumes and grains you can get in huge quantities for very little.

Brown rice - buy big old 22 pound bags of the stuff. Same with oats & barley
Dried Legumes - chick peas, kidney beans etc. Cook them up yourself
Nuts - peanuts are pretty cheap
Tuna - if you go and buy case loads they will give you a discount
Eggs - Buy trays of 2-3 dozen at a time.

Egg whites - check out a bakery supply outfit. You should be able to get them in a 5 gallon bucket. Divide it up into Tupperware and put them in the freezer.

Oats - even Costco is cheap enough to feed a horse
    Tuna - yup
Yams - produce stands may still have these cheap. I'm still buying great looking yams for 0.29 per pound

I try to time it just right so I get to Sam's or Costco when the meats go on sell near their expiration date.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
