    Doesn't really make a difference.

For most people, when they eat it will not significantly impact on trying to loose bodyfat. The big issues like a good exercise program in conjunction with a diet that is maintaining a calorie deficiency, ensures adequate protein and heathy fats and gets them eating the right type of carbohydrates is MUCH more significant.

Also - interestingly - studies have shown that when people do diet, although they loose more WEIGHT when they have a large breakfast and a small evening meal, they retain more LEAN MASS when they have a larger evening meal!!

There is also no real reason to avoid carbohydrates - There are SLIGHT differences in insulin sensitivity between early in the day and later in the evening but it is usually insignificant in the impact it will have. It is overall carb content and ensuring the CORRECT carbs are eaten which is the key.

However - carbs are important for energy, fueling workouts and ensuring adequate recovery from training. So a person should try to get their carbohydrates around these times. This is usually not last thing at night..

I workout in the evening so eating a larger meal at night works for me. If I don't I wake up starving.
