    med. grain brown rice

What is the GI of medium grain brown rice. I have done a search and I can only find the long grain GI number. I am cutting right now, is medium grain brown rice a bad idea? Should I limit the amount of brown rice (medium or long) I eat and switch to something else? The GI still seems kind of high in comparison to other carbs.

At the end of the day the difference between long grain and medium grain brown rice will probably be insignificant in terms of impact on your goals. As long as your macro ratio's, activity level and overall calorie levels are appropriate then if you can only get medium grain brown rice, just use medium grain.

In terms of if it is a bad idea - once again, it depends on what the rest of your diet is like. Sure, there are other lower GI/GL, higher fibre carb sources (eg: legumes, chana dhal, pearl barley, rye) but if you want to eat brown rice then that is perfectly fine too! It is realtively low GI and has a good amount of fibre as well.
