    ? about smaller meals

I'm changing my eating habits to three main smaller meals with 3 healthy snacks in between. I'm very used to eating 3 larger meals, so it's been strange. Do y'all who eat a similar routine never get quite as hungry for each main meal? I guess that's the point, right? Do you eat a meal even when you're not real hungry to try and stay on the routine? I'm trying to decrease my body fat a little and at the same time gain lean muscle mass. Thanks.

Thanks to a lot of input from w8lifter , MtnBikerChick and I are eating six smaller meals spread throughout the day. I eat 2400 calories a day, which is a lot less than I was eating, and I am actually more full now. We plan the meals out, and we eat them even if we are not hungry. I am NEVER in the mood for the 9:30 can of tuna, but I always eat it. Gotta feed those muscles!!! Once you stick to an eating schedule and take control of your diet, you will find that you stay satisfied longer (none of my meals are very big). I have dropped 8 pounds since I started counting my calories a month ago.

    Congrats IAB...that's good to hear

Yes, you should definitely eat your meals even if you're not hungry...for one thing, as IAB said, you've got to keep a constant supply of protein & energy coming in...you will not be as hungry for each meal, which means you're less likely to binge & eat something you shouldn't. Another thing...you're body will adjust and get used to your eating schedule. I eat every two hours and if I don't, I'm literally starving by the third hour...I've gotten used to eating small meals every two hours.

I switched to 6 meals a day. 3 of them are meal replacement shakes (myoplex lite).

I'm never as hungry as I used to be, and can't eat a big meal now.

In 5 weeks, I have lost 23 pounds. and gained a ton of strength.

Well, like I said, it depends on if I'm cutting or maintaining or what.
