Water and bloating

I’ve been trying to drink at least 8-10 cups of water a day as recommended but I have some difficulty doing it because of bloating. How long does it take to train your body to process this much water without considerable retention? Do you do it in stages? Like the first day – 3glasses, second – 4etc..
I watch my diet and eat mostly low sodium/low salt foods. I know my body is not used to having enough water (I’ve never been a good water drinker) but now I am trying to change that. Any tips? I hate feeling bloated and it stops me from having planned workout .
Thanks

It is not the water intake that is the problem, but the water retention. Try dropping carbs and calories for a bit and dry yourself out. There is a decent chance some of your food choices are causing excess water retention. Post diet (specific foods are important).

8-10 cups of water a day? I drink that before 10AM. To drop water you need to drink water.

You need to be drinking 1-2 gallons per day the higher end is better. the water is not causing the bloating it could be something else your eating.

Sash,

i always found a squeeze of lemon in my water made it taste better & also helped with bloating. i can't tell you why...................it just does!!! .....how's that for scientific??

also DON'T drink too much at once otherwise you'll be arranging your day around the bathroom. just sip it over the course of the day.
