Not Eating After 8:00, Does It Make A Difference?

I've been told time and time again to cut off my eating for the day at eight o'clock, does this actually make a difference, and if so, why?

Sure it puts your body into starvation mode and become catabolic but it does nothing for fat loss. Your body needs the food 24 hours a day and your metabolism doesn't magically slow down at the end of the day. Sure you are better off eating protein and fat at bedtime unless it's PWO.

I don't eat carbs much after 6pm, and I go to bed about 10pm. I stick with chicken and cottage cheese along with my whey shakes during those last few hours.

    GREAT question!

Ur right...many diff. schools of thoughts out there, sending mixed messages!!! Some go as strict as Not Even 1 glass of wine past dinner! LOL!

I do see how the school of thought (as mentioned above) no eating (for any length of hours regardless the time) can kick the body into "Starvation Mode" can not be good....does make sense!! (lots of sense!) hmm-mmm..... I think i will go with the "Happy Medium" idea and eat Light & healthy after dinner!

thats just a stupid myth that is spread by stupid people who don't want to put in the effort and diet. its just a way to make you eat less kcals/day.

people are always telling me 'but i lost 10lbs like that' no shit fat shit, its not like you compensated not eating after 6pm by having all of your usual kcals before that time.
