    weight loss

I started cutting on 10-1-04 and have lost about forty pounds so far. I did weigh 235 and now weigh 195. I am 5'9" tall. I was wondering if my progress should be faster then what it is or is this sorta on track. I eat a thousand cals under maintenance on.

Ok - so you have been dieting for about 5 months and you have lost 40 pounds!! That is fantastic - that is ~2 pounds a week!! You should be really, really pleased with that!!

I would even start to pull that up a little now that you are under the 200 pound mark - although you can get away with rapid loss when you are very overweight, 1 to 1.5 pounds per week is more than enough - and, once your BF% is lowish, more than this just means excessive muscle loss.

I should eat more calories? If I do should I eat maintenance. I am eating about 2000 to 2300 cals a day now. Seems funny I do not lose two pounds a week. I might not lose a pound for a month then all of a sudden I will drop some weight on the scale. I have never lost 1 to two pounds a week consistently.

I still have love handles. My stomach is starting to taper like for a six pack but I still have a gut. I just try to eat right and exercise. I kinda understand the macros and what I should eat when. Which is thanks to everyone on this board.

I would guess around 30% or so. I am down to 15 to 18% now. Depends on how I use my calipers to get this figure. I have yet to master the art of using calipers.

Me2! ...funny, i take one measurement in a certain spot (waist side) and it comes out 2 a (certain %)? ...if i go and take another measurement a teeny bit over...i get a 2% difference? So, it does seem those Calipers R very ("in the Same Exact spot") sensitive?

    _______________
but usually i get within 2% Every time?
I keep waiting for it to down a #? LOL.

You've lost the weight at a healthy pace (probably 1-2 lbs per week). Your weight according to the scale could vary throughout the weeks due to a number of factors like 1) the time of day when you weigh yourself, 2) If you have a lot of fluid or water weight at the time you weigh yourself. Example: drink 2 gallons of water and weigh yourself. And then run 5 miles in the heat without drinking any water and weigh yourself. You could see a couple of pounds difference.

Yea, I weigh my self the same time of the day every time. I used to be really obsessive with weighing my self. I broke that habit awhile back and I do not pay attention to the scale that much anymore. I think I still need to lose about 10 to 15 pounds before I can start bulking and put some mass on. I cannot hardly wait till that happens. Seems like it has been a long road.
