When I take it, I usually mixed a tbsp in w/ my shakes....some people put it in their oats after they're done cooking.

When I use it, I take 1 Tbsp. full twice a day. Since I found one that has cinnamon oil in it, I can tolerate it straight. Otherwise, I gag on it.

About a 1 1/2 tablespoons in my first protein shake works good for me.
I think the Optimum whey chocolate tastes better with the flax.

I used to use 5 tbl / day when I had elbo problems. The trainer at the gym suggested that I should try Barleens to see if it would work for me like it did for him. It did , but it didn't heal my elbos , and yes 5 tbl was alot. It did take care of some other problems we had not thought about though!
Now I'm using capsules. Four / day , 2 in the mourning , and 2 in the evening.

Flax seed oil is an essential fatty acid. The essential fatty acids are , omega 3 , omega 6 , and omega 9 . They are the saturated fats ( less the colesterol) that your body needs for lubrication of your muscles , eyes , hair , and skin.
When you workout you sweat ,and burn the EFA'S that are in your muscle cells . Now you need to replace them . This can be done by eating fish (salmon) or taking prim rose oil , or some such good stuff .
Read up on the EFA'S you'll be glad you did !

It reduses the chances for colon cancer, as the oil lubricates the intestines. For more details look here: http://www.lef.org/prod_hp/abstracts/php-ab453.html

Flax seed oil can be used any time of the day , because it will be absorbed by your body as is needed . Yes , after your evening meal , or if you chose befor bed is a good time , because all of your other body functions slow down , and the body begins to heal , and rebuild its self .
I've been useing flax seed oil since 1996 , and I use it both in the mourning , and eveing . The 12 hour spead works well for me .
If you use liquid you might want to chase it with something that tastes good ! Capsules have no taste , and go down easy .
How much you us is up to your own body needs . Read as much info as you can get on the essential faty asids , because it is the most neglected of all the nutrients . Good luck!!!
