Would like to know if chewing sugar free gum fills you up with carbs??
Looked at the back of a Wrigleys cool breeze pack and saw a 100g of gum has 64g carbs!!
Secondly...Cottage Cheese(plain)....looking at the tub ingredients the carbs init are sugars so is Tuna/Chicken etc better for you than Cottage Cheese even though its got protein in it??
And last of all....Fruit....is it all bad as its fructose and therefore sugar...I eat apples I have been informed there ok even when trying to loose weight gain muscle....(If Emma-Leigh is around advice please x)

I don't really know about the gum but I would say don't worry about it, 100 grams of gum seems like a lot. Besides if you don't swallow it it's probably less.
The skim cc i buy in 100g has 14.3 grams of protein, 3.4 carbs (2.3 sugar) and 1.2 grams of fat. It is such a small amount of carbs to begin with that I am sure you could easily fit it into your total carb %. But it isn't added sugar, it is naturally occuring dairy sugars. Unless you are going to 1000g I wouldn't worry about it.
Apples are fantastic! I love em. A medium sized apple (w/skin) has 5g of fibre. Most other fruits are okay in moderation but berries are best, or so I have read.
Hmmm...thank you yes your right about the gum I expect...just me being over concerned with watching what I consume...
What Cottage Cheese do you buy?? I buy either Sainsburys or Asda diet version (Good for you brand) or is it ok to just have the normal one ?
Yeah I love apples too...I watch it with other fruits though as Im trying to loose fat and too many carbs don't help me.....though I do eat a bannana with shake after work out now.

I buy the diet skimmed version as well. I usually get mine from Morrisons, Tesco, or Sainsburys. Usually Tesco just because it is closest to me. The facts I gave you came from the Tesco brand (its whats in the fridge right now ).
Sugar free gum contains carbs in the form of sugar alcohols. It's debatable whether or not sugar alcohol affects your blood sugar, but 1-2 sticks a day is fine.

sugar-free gum is artificial - so it will fill you full of gas, and make your tummy crampy and icky if you chew too much... but it will not 'fill you' with carbs.
But, as it was said, it may interfere with your blood sugar levels (depending on the sweetener used) so I would limit just how much you chew.

Cottage cheese is great! Don't worry about the 'sugars' in it - they are naturally found in milk and if you get the 1% stuff (better than the fat-free stuff) then you are getting only a small amount per serve.
Casein (the protein found in cottage cheese) is actually VERY healthy for you and is responsible for half of those good properties that milk has!!

Fruit is GREAT!!! It always amuses me when people add dextrose/pure man made sugars to their diets but 'can't have fruit' because of the sugars!
Anyway - It is not 'just fructose' but is a combination of many sugars (glucose, sucrose, fructose, and some others) - BUT fruit also has vitamins, minerals, starch, fibre, anti-oxidants, phytochemicals, water and LOTS of good things in it!!
It helps fill you up (fibre) it restores and replaces body water, vitamins and minerals and it also helps to maintain your body in a 'fed' state (important when both cutting and adding mass!!).
Plus, the level of 'fructose' you get in a typical serve of fruit is not large enough to make an impact on your health - you have to get upward of 50-70g PER DAY to get those negative effects they speak of (which is the equivalant of about 10 medium bananas). Even then, if you are in negative calorie balance, the effect will not be that significant.
Eating around 2 serves of fruit a day is a really good idea for maintaining a healthy, well balanced diet!
