You can't have your cake and eat it to?

I've been working out pretty steadily the past 2 monthes, eating a high protein diet.. Even put on a few lbs.. I'm at 152 ish now(from 146..).. I'm noticing more muscle tone, but i also see more fat in my obliques.. I'm starting to get a love handleish appearance on the sides(especially after i eat). Although the front of my stomach isn't to flabby.. is this normal.. would there be any way to shed it w/out losing my muscle and sticking to my high protein diet? Thanks.

Yes, but it will be harder to gain muscle while you do that. It's part of bodybuilding for most, a few execptions. Mostpeople gain muscle and fat, then cut.

    When you feel like it.
What this means is that when we drop a ball and it falls to the ground, it wasn't the ball that moved (down to the ground), but the ground that moved (up to the ball)

You aren't going to get fatter immediately after you eat, thats called food in your stomach, and a little skin stretching from that food in your stomach hanging from the front of your body.

I don't think your body can really gain muscle without holding on to some fat to act as an anabolic aid. I believe the current thought among bodybuilders is not to "bulk" but rather raise your caloric intake slightly to muscle growth while minimizing fat gain.

You could try a cyclic type diet for a little while - or just sit at maintainence and recompose for a few weeks (say 4 weeks) and then continue to add some more mass.
