    Questions About My Cut

Okay guys, I have been cutting for three days now, I want to make sure I got it down.

At the moment it would seem that I do.. On Wed. morning on my first weigh in I was 243 Lbs, and this morning (Fri.) Im 232! Now I know that for a while I will be losing some water, but this is massive!

I'm eating about 2100 cals/day, I am prepared to lower it at a plateau, and right now I am doing 2 cardio sessions a day, one for 35 minutes, and one for 45 minutes with my lifting 3 times per week.

I am also running an E/C/A stack, and it seems to be working very well sense I am losing weight so fast. My face has thinned out quiet bit, and I can see that I am allready thinning out in my legs and upper mid section.

I'm not complaining but is this normal to be cutting up this quickly, and the weight loss too? (btw it is my first eca stack)

    thanks.

There might be something wrong with the scale that I am using.

I like to do cardio while I listen to music, it's just fun.

No you are not doing your cut right. You should have followed Emma's advice and you are doing too much cardio. Talk about counter-productive.

I suggest that you put the suggestions given to you in place. You need to do it right else you will simply loose weight (fat AND muscle). Then you will have to work hard to put back the muscle.

Going low is counter productive and you will soon start to feel tired and will give up. You need to start at a higher level and stick to it while you are loosing. When you hit a plateau, then you lower cals a bit more and so on. If you start at the lowest level, you cant go any lower.

Okay so you want me to do less cardio, and eat more. Sounds like a good way to gain weight, but sense I know that you know what you are talking about I will use your advice.

Is it okay if I add on the extra 400 calories in fruit and protein? That is what I have most of in my house to eat.

Sounds like a good way to lose weight? You are kidding me right? You do know you need to eat more to lose don't you? You want your body to go into starvation mode and then hold onto every molecule of fat your body has? You want to lose your best source of fat burning (muscle)? You need to read and learn kid. Did you ever do any reading around this forum?

'You need to eat to loose' - As strange as it sounds, it is true.

When you go too low your body 'thinks' .."OMG there is a fammine comming. I had better save up all food and store it as fat so that i can have energy reserves. Also i had better shut down a bit to stop wasting energy". Thats when you stop loosing anymore and began to feel tired and worn out and you will give up.

When you do that and go back to normal eating and not working out, your body still thinks that there is this great fammine out and stores food as fat. Thats when all the fat you lost will come back and possibly more.

However if you do it sensibly AND your diet is clean, you shouldnt put on weight. Even though you are eating adequately and not overworking yourself.

When trying to loose, too much fruit is not recommended. Especially, skip fruits like bananas. Berries are ok.

Protein is required. But protein is difficult macro to digest. Too much and you will feel bloated/gassy. Carbs are not evil. You need them. But just as there are good and bad fats, similarly for carbs. So, no white bread, pastries..etc..

And make sure you get lots of veggies. Fill up on them as much as you can if you are feeling hungry.

The first step to sucess is not how much of a cardio bunny you are or how little you can eat. The first step to sucess is knowledge. The more you know the better you will get at making the right decisions. So read up and educate yourself before making decisions.

I can't add much to what these learned posters have already said, but, real quick: I started training Jan 5th this year at 216lbs. I'm about 174 today.

    Cardio:
Early in my cut, I did a ton of cardio. I still do it, but not nearly as much. It's good to get you in the swing of things and it burns fat, but right now my diet is so good that I lose 2lbs a week no matter what, so I concentrate on lifting to prevent too much muscle loss.

    Cals:
I follow the simple rule of eating 10x my body weight in libs in cals. I can up it if I'm getting a lot of good workouts, but I got sick and had a sunburn that was bad enough that I couldn't go to the gym for a while. You're defintely getting too few cals for your weight. If you're losing 2lbs/week on any amount of cals, why go lower and starve yourself, right?

    Diet:
I eat a pretty standard low carb-high protein diet, with carbs cycled in to prevent plateaus and before lifting sessions.

Don't worry about the weight. Scales can be broken and depending on lots of factors your weight can go up and down rapidly. One time it seemed I lost 7lbs in a couple days, but I was just dehydrated and had an empty stomach. I weighed myself later on the same scale and almost all of it came back.
