I have never been someone to drink soda. But to replace it water is your best option. (+/- something like crystal light or add a squeeze of lemon juice etc). You also have things like herbal/green tea. If you want the occasional diet drink then that is fine too.

High carb foods - well, just because it has carbs in it does not mean it is bad. There are lots of foods that are higher in carb but that are packed full of nutrients that you require. Also, there are other meats than hamburgers!

Just get yourself a good balanced eating routine - something that consists of:
Lean proteins (eggs/whites, chicken/turkey, seafood, game meats, lean cuts of red meats)
Vegetables (the more the better, expections being high starch vegetables like peas or potato etc)
Fruits (apples, pears, berries, bananas around workouts)
    Legumes (beans, lentils, chick-peas)
Whole grains (oats, barley, rye, brown rice)
    Nuts/seeds (walnuts, linseeds, almonds, peanuts)
Skim dairy (milk, cottage cheese, natural yoghurts).

Not that hard. Basically, if you can pick it, grow it, hunt it or gather it then it should be ok.

I drink a lot of water.

Recently I've been drinking 3 tall glasses a day of naturally squeezed lemon juice without any sugar.

Add a protein shake a few times a week as either a meal replacement or a suplement. They've really helped me.
